Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) is a federal statutory agency established by Act 11 of 2003.

The act under section 4 (h) mandates the Council to accredit by formal third party recognition, the competence of medical laboratories to perform specific tests. MLSCN Accreditation Service which is a subsidiary of MLSCN was established to safeguard our impartiality in the provision of accreditation services. MLSCN has a governing board charged with the responsibility of formulating policies as well as providing oversight functions on the finances of the Council. The day to day administration of the Council is the responsibility of the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer who is also the Secretary to the governing board.
